Medical Visa

A medical visa may be applied for by a person travelling to India for specialized medical treatment.

Attendant/family members of the patient may be granted medical attendant visa which is co-terminus with the medical visa of the patient.

Documents required:

  • Applicants may apply at: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in and complete the application online after carefully going through the instructions listed on the web page.
  • Take a print out of the duly filled online form and submit a signed copy.
  • Passport (with minimum 6 months validityand two blank pages) and photocopy.
  • NRC/Residency Permit (original and photocopy).
  • Yellow fever certificate (original and photocopy).
  • Two recent Passport size photographs (see ‘Photograph Guidelines’).
  • Letter from local doctor/hospital establishing the need for receiving medical treatment in India(original and photocopy).
  •  Letter from the hospital in India  indicating name, passport details and date of travel of patient and accompanying person (if any) to India for treatment (original and photocopy).

Time Frame: 03 working days
