Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation
Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme
Funding: This Programme presents scholarships to deserving candidates for short-term and medium-term training courses. All expenses on international travel, board and lodging, course fee, etc. are met by the Government of India.
Eligibility: Employees/officials in Government, Public Sector/Parastatal Organisations and Universities/Schools, Professionals from Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who are between 25 to 45 years of age, having a working experience of at least 5 years, who are medically fit and possess the required academic qualifications as laid down by the respective institutions where they are applying. A sound working knowledge of English is required to follow the course, except for English language course.
Applications: All ITEC applications are required to be filled in by the applicants themselves at the website (https://www.itecgoi.in). After a candidate has applied for a course, he/she must take a printout of the application and send it to the High Commission of India, Lusaka along with copies of their academic qualifications and a forwarding letter through the nominating Public Service Management Division of Cabinet Office, Government of the Republic of Zambia.
Nominations of candidates may please be forwarded to the Public Service Management Division of Cabinet Office, Government of the Republic of Zambia preferably 4-6 weeks prior to the date of commencement of the training course.
2. Courses are open for online application three months before the commencement date.
3.See the brochure outlining the "ITEC Terms and Conditions" and the "ITEC Brochure". Upon selection, candidates will be intimated by email by the ITEC authority as well as by the High Commission. Usually, the intimation is 7-10 days before the course. they are therefore, advised to be prepared to travel upon selection, at short notice.
